Objectives
The main training objectives of the degree are:
- To provide the student with an advanced and interdisciplinary training that allows him/her to be trained as a researcher and university teacher capable of carrying out research autonomously, in the field of studies proper to the philological field, history of Spanish literature and theory of literature (literary criticism, comparatism), as well as its interrelation with other arts (cinema, music, performing arts, television), sciences and disciplines (anthropology, rhetoric, ecdotics, paleography).
- To train the student in the range of specific research skills inherent to a university academic career, such as the management, massive recension and treatment of information (primary and secondary sources), critical reasoning and the capacity for analysis, synthesis and interpretation, the philological and theoretical-literary analysis of texts and the development of presentation skills (oral and written) of contents and results.
- To prepare the student for further specialization studies, such as PhD programs in this field of study. The teaching team will inform the student about the research career and its professional management, in order to provide him/her with the tools and criteria that will allow him/her to acquire autonomy and projection towards the next stage, the PhD studies, the first stage of the research and university teaching career in national and foreign institutions.
